Registered Sex Offender Exposed Himself on Connecticut Jogging Trail: Police

A registered sex offender has been accused of exposing himself to a jogger on a trail in Connecticut, police say.

Police in Shelton charged Richard Hammond, 52. of Stratford, with breach of peace and public indecency on Saturday in connection to the May 10 flashing.

That's when a jogger came up to a police officer to report seeing a exposed man on the Shelton Trails while he was jogging in the area of Shelton Avenue. The man, who wasn't wearing any pants and had his genitals exposed, gestured to the jogger and then darted into the woods, according to police.

Police found Hammond on the trails and identified him as the suspect.

Hammond has been a registered sex offender since 1998, police said.

Attorney information for the man wasn't available.
