A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly trying to sexually attack an 83-year-old woman as she walked to church in New Jersey over the summer.
Margarito Hernandez-Valladares, of Englewood, faces charges of attempted sexual assault, criminal restraint and criminal sexual contact in connection with the July 28 attack on the woman in his hometown.
He was arrested Thursday, the result of a joint investigation by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit and the Englewood Police Department. Details on the circumstances surrounding the attack weren't released.
It wasn't clear if Hernandez-Valladares had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
