Heavy Rain Inundates Part of Suffolk County

Heavy rain drenched part of Suffolk County on Saturday afternoon as forecasters warned of possible flash flooding.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for central and  western Suffolk that expired early Saturday afternoon.

However, showers and thunderstorms could bring minor flooding to western Suffolk through 3:30 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

A viewer sent video to NBC 4 New York showing hail and heavy rain in East Moriches.

The weather should dry out tonight and stay until early next week, according to Storm Team 4 meteorologist Raphael Miranda.

Saturday night is expected to get quite cool with lows in the 50s in the metro area. The temps may even dip into the 30s in the suburbs, Storm Team 4 says.

Next week should be cooler with highs in the 70s.
