Serial Sexual Assaulter Strikes in Brooklyn

Police say a serial sexual assaulter has struck again in Brooklyn, grabbing a woman from behind on the street and attempting to tackle her to the ground.

The incident happened at about 10:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, in NYPD's 72nd precinct, which consists of the Sunset Park and Windsor Terrace neighborhoods. Police said the man approached a 28-year-old woman from behind, touched her over and under her clothing, and tried to pin her to the ground.

The woman began screaming, however, scaring the man away.

The man is believed to be the same person wanted for a string of other sex attacks, including one rape and five attempted rapes in the same area of Brooklyn.

The other incidents occurred in March, May and June, police said. In all instances but one, the victims were able to struggle enough to scare the suspect away.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or visit nypdcrimestoppers.com.
