Secret Santas Pay Off Nearly $100K in Layaway Items in New Jersey and Pennsylvania Walmarts

An anonymous donor paid off all the items on layaway at a Pennsylvania Walmart, dropping a total of $40,000 and giving 200 families a holiday gift.

In Millville, New Jersey, another Secret Santa - or perhaps the same one - paid $49,000 for layaway items.

"It just don't happen to us," Kimberly Green said. "I was in shock."

The donor allowed Green to bring home presents for nine grandchildren totaling more than $700. She didn't pay a dime, Green said.

"I didn't think it was true until they brought my stuff out," she said.

Meanwhile, staff members at the Pennsylvania store said this is the second year in a row the anonymous donor has made such a gift.

Store veteran Barbara Kearns said she's never seen generosity and humility on this scale before.

The Walmart staff has been making calls to families with the news, letting them know their Christmas gifts on layaway are paid off.

Nobody knows who the secret donor is, not even the Walmart staff. They just call him "Santa B."
