Missing NJ Hiker's Body Found

Park rangers at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area have discovered the body of a 25-year old New Jersey man who was last seen hiking with friends at Van Campens Glen on the New Jersey side of the park Sunday afternoon.

Rescuers recovered the body of Alexander Morros, of Long Valley, N.J., at about 11:45 a.m. and are in the process of removing him from the recreation area.

It wasn't immediately clear how he died.

The park’s 24-hour emergency communications center received a missing person report from Warren County Control Center at 4:04 p.m. Sunday after Morros went missing.

Park rangers began the search less than half an hour later. The search was suspended at nightfall, began again on Monday morning, and continued throughout the day.

The search of the area, including the creek and surrounding forest, continued Tuesday with assistance from New Jersey State Park Police and volunteers searchers and canine handlers from New Jersey Search and Rescue.
