Police Investigate Burglary at Mayoral Hopeful Scott Stringer's Campaign Office

Law enforcement sources said two laptops containing campaign and donor information were stolen from the office

Police are investigating a break-in at the campaign office of Manhattan Borough President and 2013 mayoral hopeful Scott Stringer, NBC 4 New York has learned.

A staff member called police Monday to report the thefts, which occurred over the weekend. Law enforcement sources said a Mac laptop and a Hewlett-Packard laptop containing campaign and donor information were stolen from the office.

Nothing else was taken, including other valuables and computers left in the Tribeca office at 40 Worth St., according to the sources.

A call to Stringer's staffers for comment was not immediately returned.
