School District Gets 5 Bomb Threats in 9 Days

More than 800 parents have packed an auditorium to press for better security in a Long Island school district that has endured five bomb threats in nine days.

No one was hurt in the incidents at West Babylon's junior high and high schools between Nov. 12 and Friday, but the schools were evacuated each time. There were three threats in as many days at the high school last week.

Margaret Valsechi has a daughter in the high school. The mother says students are scared and don't want to go to school.

Police are investigating, and high school principal Ellice Vassallo says several "persons of interest" have been identified. School officials say they are scrutinizing the handwriting in the threats, which were delivered via notes or scrawled on walls.
