Yonkers Teen Dies When SUV Crashes, Lands in Creek

A 42-year-old man was driving the vehicle, police said

A 16-year-old boy has died after a sport utility vehicle went off a road in Dutchess County, overturned and landed in Wappinger Creek.

Sgt. Michael Dampf of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office says 16-year-old Paul Williams Jr. of Yonkers was taken to Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie after the accident at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The accident happened in Clinton Corners.

Dampf said a 42-year-old man was driving the Ford Explorer. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. His name was not immediately released.

The cause is under investigation.
