S.I. Husband Charged With Strangling Wife

Police say 64-year-old man made statements implicating himself in the crime.

A Staten Island woman found dead inside her home was strangled and her husband is facing a murder charge, police say.

Eva Rubin was found dead in the bedroom of her Willowbrook home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say they noticed strangulation marks on her neck. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.

Her 64-year-old husband, Arthur Rubin, was found Wednesday in his wife's car and had apparently slashed his wrists and torso. He was hospitalized and arrested on murder charges after police say he made statements implicating himself.

He was in stable condition. The name of his lawyer was not immediately available.
