Rutgers Opens 1st New Dorm in 17 Years

The $57 million residence hall will house about 500 students.

Rutgers University has opened its first new dorm since 1994.

The $57 million residence hall on the Busch campus in Parsippany will be home to 500 students.

The three four-story buildings that make up the Busch Engineering, Science and Technology complex are built around a central courtyard.

The Home News Tribune of East Brunswick reports (http://bit.ly/noNJ5N ) the dorm is designed to increase interaction between students and faculty from the sciences, engineering and pharmacy disciplines.

The residence hall includes a computer lab open to all Rutgers students, as well as study and recreational space.
