Robber Hit 5 Banks During 4-Hour Spree: NYPD

The NYPD is looking for a man it says stuck up five banks over a four-hour robbery spree Monday afternoon.

Police say the robber went into four banks in upper Manhattan and one in the Bronx between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and handed tellers notes demanding cash.

Twice, he made out of the banks with money, stealing $50 from a Chase bank branch near Columbus Circle and $399 from another branch in the Bronx. In each of the other attempts, the suspect fled the bank without taking anything.

Anyone with information about the suspect should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
