A man ran up behind a 64-year-old victim near Yankee Stadium and knocked him to the ground before running away with his wallet and jewelry, the NYPD says.
The victim was walking in Concourse shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday when he was surprised from behind by a man who had snuck up on him, police said.
The suspect punched the man in the face and knocked him to the ground, authorities said.
He continued to kick and punch the victim while he was down before taking his wallet and jewelry, officials said.
The man then ran away, police said.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital to be treated for his injuries, authorities said.
Police released surveillance footage of the suspect in hopes of catching the man.
