Police are looking for a robber they say ambushed an elderly man walking out of his building in Brooklyn, hitting him across the head and running away with his wallet as the victim lay on the ground, injured.
The 81-year-old victim was walking out of his building on Lewis Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2 when the robber sneaked up from behind and hit him across the head, causing the victim to fall to the ground.
The attacker took the elderly man's wallet, which contained the victim's ID, credit and debit cards, and some cash, police said. He then ran away.
The victim refused medical attention on the scene.
