    Aristaeus scooted into the water after being released by the Riverhead Foundation.

    A gray seal that was nursed back to health after it was found injured on Long Island was released Saturday into the coastal waters.

    Staff from the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research & Preservation released the seal, named Aristaeus, under the Ponquogue Bridge in Hampton Bays.

    The injured seal was found April 14 in Montauk.

    Aristaeus scooted into the water at about 4 p.m.
