Easter Sunday is 2nd Hottest on Record in NYC

The sun came out and the jackets came off as Easter Sunday warmed up to feel more like summer.

The temperature rose to 87 degrees in New York City, making it the second hottest Easter on record.

The warmest was April 18, 1976, when the temps hit a scorching 96 degrees.

On Sunday evening, it was actually warmer in New York City than it was in Miami.

Severe thunderstorms moved through Sullivan County northwest of New York City early Sunday evening.

But Storm Team 4 says the pleasant weather will continue. Monday should be another beautiful day with a high of 70 degrees. The temps will drop slowly during the week with some rain by Wednesday.
