Humpback Whale Spotted in Raritan Bay

A humpback whale was spotted swimming in Raritan Bay on Friday.

Whale watcher Anthony D'Angelis sent NBC 4 New York a video of the whale flopping out of the body of water between New Jersey and Staten Island on Friday.

Raritan Riverkeeper Bill Schultz said that it's pretty rare for whales to make their way into the bay, but he thinks the humpback spotted Friday was following striped bass and bait fish that swam into the body of water recently.

He said the whale was also spotted on Sunday.
