Man Sought in Rape Attempts in Upper Manhattan

The attacker followed his would-be victims into their buildings in all cases, police said

Police are searching for a man in a series of a rape attempts in upper Manhattan, and have released surveillance video of the suspect.

The man is wanted in an Oct. 7 incident in the area of Dyckman Street, when he followed a 20-year-old woman into her building and attempted to rape her; an Oct. 21 incident in Harlem when he followed a 35-year-old woman into her building; and an Oct. 23 incident in the area of 180th Street when he followed a 33-year-old woman into her building.

In all cases, the women fought off the attacker. 

The man is described as about 20 to 25 years old and about 5 feet 10 inches in height. He was last seen wearing a black vest jacket, black jeans and a plaid shirt.
