Man Arrested in Strangulation of Rahway Woman

Authorities say they've arrested a man on a murder charge a week after a 35-year-old woman was found strangled in her Rahway, New Jersey home.

Roberto Grillo, 36, of Bloomfield, has been charged in the death of Yolanda Vega last Monday, Dec. 7, according to the Essex County prosecutor's office. Grillo was known to Vega and her family, authorities say, but it's not clear what the relationship was.

Vega was pronounced dead at the scene of her Beacon Street home when she was found.

Grillo was already in police custody at Union County Jail when he was charged, according to the prosecutor's office. He had been arrested the evening of Sunday, Dec. 6 after he was caught trespassing at the Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery in Linden, about an hour and a half after Vega was believed to be killed, and less than half a mile from her home.

Bail for Grillo has been set at $2 million. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
