Questions Remain as Funeral Set for Slain Mother

A funeral will take place at an Islamic center Friday for a woman killed while she and her husband pushed their son in a stroller in New Jersey.

Nazish Noorani and her husband, Kashif Pervaiz, had visited relatives when shots rang out Tuesday.

Pervaiz was wounded.

No one has been arrested.

The Morris County prosecutor's office has said major developments in the case are expected to be announced at a news conference later today.

Noorani's sister told The Record newspaper her sister became unhappy after moving from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Boston, so Pervaiz could attend Harvard. The university can't confirm he's a student.

The Star-Ledger of Newark obtained a Boston police report showing the husband was arrested on assault charges six months ago after a 20-year-old from New York, who claimed to be his girlfriend, said he slapped and pushed her.

The charges were dropped after the woman failed to appear in court.
