Authorities say a Queens woman has died from injuries she suffered when her bicycle crashed along the cliffs of the Palisades in northern New Jersey.
The woman, identified only as a 55-year-old Jackson Heights resident, was riding on Henry Hudson Drive in Alpine when she ran off the road Friday afternoon in the remote area, sustaining head and arm injuries during her fall.
Palisades Interstate Parkway Police say responders found the woman unconscious but alive around 3:30 p.m. She was flown to a hospital, where she died a short time later.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
