Police are looking for a couple who scammed $3,000 in cash from an 81-year-old Queens woman.
The couple, both about 35 years old, approached the woman Monday morning and claimed they had found a large sum of money and would give $70,000 to her if she could come up with $3,000 to show to a bank, investigators said.
The woman went to her Astoria apartment building with the female suspect and gave her the cash.The couple never returned.
Police ask that anyone with information about the incident to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at (800) 577-TIPS.
