Queens Toddler Discovers Parents Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

The 41-year-old mother, Roxanne Lambert, was shot by her 32-boyfriend, Everol Ellington, before he turned the gun on himself at about 11:30 p.m. in their Jamaica home, according to police.

A 2-year-old boy discovered his parents dead in an apparent murder-suicide in their Queens home Sunday night, police said.

The 41-year-old mother, Roxanne Lambert, was shot by her 32-year-old boyfriend Everol Ellington before he turned the gun on himself at about 11:30 p.m. in their Jamaica home, according to police.

Lambert's teenage children from a previous marriage were home at the time and woken up by their baby brother.

It's not clear what sparked the shootings.

"They never even looked like an unhappy couple, so that's heartbreaking," said neighbor Barbara Alexis.

Neighbors said the couple moved in about a year ago and were often seen working in the yard in front of the home.

Ellington had five prior arrests, three of which remained sealed, said police. In November 2011, he was charged with identity theft and criminal possession of stolen property.
