A 70-year-old rabbi in Rockland, New York, was arrested Tuesday, accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a boy while he was serving as principal at the boy's yeshiva, prosecutors say.

The investigation into Gabriel Bodenheimer of Monsey began when the alleged victim, now 12 years old, went to the Town of Ramapo police to report he'd been sexually abused while he was a student at the Bais Mikroh School.

According to investigators, the rabbi began abusing the boy in August 2009, when the boy was 7 years old, up through July 2010, in the principal's office at the school.

Bodenheimer was arraigned on criminal sex act and sex abuse charges, and his bail was set at $25,000. His next court date is set for Aug. 26.

His attorney Deborah Wolikow Loewenberg said, "Well fight these allegations because they're not true, and we'll do that in a court of law."

Ramapo police are asking anyone else who may be victims or who have more information about the case to contact them.
