Obama Coming to Newark for Criminal Justice Reform Push

President Barack Obama is heading to Newark.

The White House said Tuesday that Obama will travel to Newark on Monday as part of his push for reforming the criminal justice system.

White House spokesman Eric Schultz says Obama will be joined by Sen. Cory Booker and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka.

He says Obama will discuss the plight of formerly incarcerated individuals seeking to rejoin society.

Obama last visited New Jersey in May, when he came to Camden and praised efforts by the police department to improve their relationship with a poor community struggling with violence.
