Power Outage Affects 15,000 Customers In New Jersey: PSE&G

More than 15,000 customers lost power in New Jersey for hours Monday night after a problem at an electrical substation in Essex County, PSE&G says.

Power went out about 10 p.m. for customers in Irvington, Maplewood and Newark, the utility says. Crews are currently at the substation, in Irvington, assessing the problem and making repairs.

Power was restored for all customers by 5 a.m., according to a PSE&G outage map.

It's not clear what caused the outage.
