Transformer Problem Knocks Out Power to Thousands in NJ

The preliminary cause was a transformer malfunction in Bergen

A power outage in New Jersey affected about 7,000 customers Friday night.

PSE&G officials say it appears a transformer malfunction at a switching station in Bergen caused the outage in Bergen County.

Around 7,000 customers were without power in Fort Lee, Edgewater and Cliffside Park.

All power was restored by late Friday night.
