Tired of the long TSA lines? Ever left the airport wondering when the next taxi would be available? There is now an online tool that can access real-time TSA and taxi wait times.
If you’re traveling at John F. Kennedy International (JFK), Newark Liberty International (EWR), LaGuardia (LGA), and New York Stewart International (SWF) airport, you can now access live TSA and taxi wait times on each of their websites.
The tracking system was launched last November during the government shutdown to help travelers anticipate and work around unusual TSA checkpoint wait times.
Passengers are now able to plan their travels better by knowing what to expect at the TSA checkpoint. The taxi wait times will also help passengers decide between ground transportation or waiting for a taxi.
The airport staff will be able to use this site to develop strategies to reduce TSA wait times and request additional taxis when needed.
Travelers can go online to check their wait time at all four airports except United Airline’s Terminal C at EWR, which is looking have the system by later this year.
