A cop shot and wounded a man in Brooklyn late Friday after he ignored orders to drop a knife, police officials say.
The suspect was in stable condition at Kings County Hospital.
The NYPD says three officers had responded to a 911 call and were interviewing a man who said he was being chased when the suspect appeared with a knife.
One of the officers tried subduing the man with a pepper spray, but police say the man kept coming. One of the officers then fired a single shot.
Authorities didn't immediately release the suspect's name.
