WATCH: Thieves Ram Truck Through Electronic Store Gates in Snowy Heist

Electronics store owner says this was the second time his store was hit during a storm

Police are investigating a brazen smash-and-grab burglary where thieves rammed a pickup truck through the front of an electronics store in Newark during Friday's snowstorm.

The burglars can be seen on surveillance footage at the Electromania Wireless & Electronics store smashing the back of the truck through the store's metal security gate five times before hopping out and loading up with thousands of dollars worth of tablets, smartphones and flatscreen TVs. In all, more than 30 tablets and dozens of smartphones were stolen, the store's owner said.

According to Newark Police, the four burglars removed a city bench bolted to the sidewalk before smashing up the store.

The store's owner, Driss Mallouk, came work Friday morning to find most of the store's facade caved inside the building and looters picking over what remained in the store.

"I feel so violated," he said. "This business is where I feed my family; this is my life."

He said the store had been burglarized in a similar fashion last year during a snowstorm.
