A police officer on Long Island has admitted he groped a woman during a traffic stop.
Garrett Mannerz, 34, pleaded guilty Wednesday to official misconduct. He has also resigned from the Nassau County police force.
Prosecutors say the officer groped the woman after a traffic stop last February in East Meadow, N.Y.
Prosecutors say three women were in the car. After the driver was given a sobriety test, Mannerz summoned a passenger to his patrol car, where prosecutors say he coerced her into touching him sexually.
He let the women go, but allegedly called one of them later for a date. Prosecutors say she recorded the call and told police.
The six-year police veteran was sentenced to 80 hours of community service. He was barred from contacting the women.
