Police Look for Men Seen Near NJ College Student Shooting

Police are trying to identify two men seen on surveillance footage running near where a 19-year-old college student was mysteriously found shot dead inside a Jeep parked in a New Jersey lot last week.

The men, shown in the photos above, may have been witnesses to Brendan Tevlin's shooting on Northfield Avenue in West Orange at around 12 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Essex County prosecutor's office.

Tevlin had been playing video games at a friend's house Wednesday night and left around 11:30 p.m. Prosecutors say it appears he was targeted in the shooting.

Faculty at Tevlin's former high school, Seton Hall Prep, said he was a well-liked boy who had good grades and many friends.

"He was an 'A' student, very conscientious, a model citizen," said his calculus teacher, Joe Boland.

Anyone who might be able to identify the men is being asked to call the Essex County Prosecutor's Hotline at (877) 847-7432 x1877.
