6-Year-Old Long Island Girl Finds 2-Inch Needle in Her Halloween Candy

Police on Long Island say a 6-year-old girl found a 2-inch long sewing needle inside a candy bar she got while trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Police say the girl from North Lindenhurst discovered the needle when she bit into a TWIX Fun Size Caramel Cookie Bar on Wednesday. The girl was not injured.

The candy, wrappers and another unopened candy bar have been sent to the Suffolk County Crime Lab to be examined.

Police say they believe the girl got the tainted candy somewhere on North Hamilton Avenue, Spiegelhagen Street, North Greene Avenue, North Erie Avenue and North Delaware Avenue in North Lindenhurst.
