Police-Involved Shooting in New Brunswick, N.J.

The shooting is under investigation

A police-involved shooting in New Brunswick, N.J. Tuesday evening is under investigation.

It happened at about 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Remsen Avenue and Seaman Street, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.

Two New Brunswick police officers were on routine patrol when they encountered a fight near the intersection, officials said.

One of the individuals involved was believed to have a gun and believed to have fired shots, officials said.

The officers then fired shots in response and wounded the man.

The man was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
