Police Investigate Woman's Laundry Room Death as Homicide

Woman found by co-worker face down in laundry room

The death of a woman found by a co-worker in a suburban New York City laundry has been ruled a homicide.

Roberta Galicia-Lagos was found Monday morning face down on the floor of the Yonkers Laundromat.

Police haven't said how the 25-year-old was killed or whether anyone has been questioned about her death.

The woman had rented a room and lived with a family a block from the laundry where she worked but had moved out recently to live with her boyfriend.

Laundry owner Joe LaSalle said the woman opened in the mornings.

The woman also worked at a McDonald's fast-food restaurant in Yonkers, about 15 miles north of midtown Manhattan.

Police are trying to find witnesses who were near the laundry between 5:30 and 9 Monday morning.
