Police Investigate Car Window-Smashing Spree on Long Island

Police are investigating a series of weekend car vandalisms in Massapequa and Massapequa Park.

More than 20 cars had windows or mirrors smashed and broken in a vandalism spree in two Long Island towns over the weekend, police said.

The vehicles had rear windows, front windshields or sideview mirrors either smashed or broken between 6 p.m. Saturday and about noon on Sunday in Massapequa and Massapequa Park, according to Nassau County police.

The vandalism was reported for vehicles located on Locust Street, Riverside Avenue, Lincoln Avenue, Prospect Place, Ocean Avenue, Hawthorne Street, Bannon Place, Abbey Street, Brendan Avenue, Linden Street, New York Avenue, Fitzmaurice Street, Tyrconnell Avenue, Cherry Street, Lakeshore Drive, Sycamore Street, Seaford Avenue and Lakeshore Boulevard.
