Police Arrest Mom, Son Shoplifting Duo

Police say the mother prompted her 11-year-old boy to steal.

A mom and her 11-year-old son were arrested as a pickpocketing team after they were seen taking a wallet and shoplifting, police said.

The Daily News said Carolyn Taylor, 35, is accused of prompting her son, Enrique Tate, to grab a wallet from an unattended baby stroller at a Gap Kids store.

Stuti Khanna, 31, whose wallet was taken, said she was glad the mom-and-son duo was tracked down.

Police told the paper that the pair was also seen on surveillance footage at another store. They were allegedly shoplifting and using a stolen credit card.

The Daily News said Taylor has been arrested 11 times since 1993 on charges ranging from petit larceny to possession of stolen property.

The pair were taken into custody Sunday.

Taylor was arraigned on grand larceny and granted bail of $7,500 bond or $5,000 cash, the paper said. Her son was charged as a juvenile.

No one answered at her apartment in the Bronx Monday, the paper said.
