Man Found Killed in Long Island Hotel Was Hog-Tied: Complaint

A man is being held without bail in the beating death of a man who was found hog-tied on the floor of a suburban New York hotel room.

Vincent Dalton was arrested Tuesday on second-degree murder charges in the death of 37-year-old Erik O'Connell. Police say the East Meadow man's body was found at the Econo Lodge in Hicksville last Saturday by an employee who went to clean the room.

A felony complaint says O'Connell died of blunt force trauma.

Nassau County Police say the men had known each other less than 24 hours and had been drinking together. They didn't elaborate.

Dalton's court-appointed attorney said at Wednesday's arraignment his 51-year-old client is homeless and told police he was not taking his psychiatric medication.
