Those seats normally go for $23. An email blast from Travelzoo.com made us aware of the deals, and there were even cheaper seats on the market that have already been snapped up.
TicketsNow is a subsidiary of Ticketmaster designed to battle StubHub in the ticket resale marketplace. The sudden glut of tickets, the awareness of a travel website with a big audience and the curiously regimented pricing of seats in the same sections make you think there's more to this than season ticket holders simply cutting their losses and trying to get back what they can against a bad opponent.
It seems more likely that Ticketmaster is the party trying to get their money back, but that shouldn't matter. Snap up those tickets and see the Yankees take on a team that somewhat resembles a major league squad!
