Plaxico Burress Misses 2nd Straight Day of Practice

Plaxico Burress has missed his second straight practice with the New York Jets because of an ankle injury.

The wide receiver was expected to practice for the first time Thursday once the labor agreement was ratified.

But he rolled his left ankle while running routes with Santonio Holmes on Wednesday. He was in uniform for Friday's afternoon practice, as he was Thursday, but mostly as a sideline spectator.

Burress worked with a trainer and caught a few footballs from a machine. He still has ankle swelling, and coach Rex Ryan says the team will be cautious.

Burress served 20 months in prison on a gun charge and was signed by the Jets on Sunday.
