A pilot and his two passengers are safe after their single-engine plane made an emergency landing at Rockaway Beach Monday night.
The plane made the landing just after 7 p.m. near Beach 56th Street and Shorefront Parkway.
The pilot had taken off from Farmingdale, but it's unclear where the flight was headed. The pilot reported a "rough running engine" as the cause for the emergency landing.
All three people on board refused medical treatment at the scene.
Authorities are still investigating what caused the plane to land near the ocean.
