A person was hit and killed by a private garbage truck in the Bronx, police say.
The truck hit the pedestrian around 5:30 Tuesday morning in Norwood in the area of Jerome Avenue and Gun Hill Road, officials said. The driver remained at the scene.
The victim, a male, died at the scene. No criminality is expected, according to police.
Chopper 4 was over the scene and showed a heavy police presence as an accident investigation getting underway. The crash, which happened right under the subway tracks doesn’t appear to affect train service in the area.
The name of the man who died has not been made public.
