    Pedestrian Killed in Long Island Crash

    Police on Long Island are investigating a motor vehicle accident that killed a man who crossed in front of the car.
    The victim, Carlos Perez-Hernandes, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
    The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in North Amityville.
    The driver, 60-year-old Douglas Aloise, was not hurt.
    The Chevrolet Malibu he was driving was impounded for a safety check.
