Pedestrian Hit and Killed by 4 Vehicles on Long Island: Police

A man crossing a Long Island road early Saturday morning was hit and killed by four different cars and police are looking for two of the vehicles that sped away.

The pedestrian was walking across Route 112 in Patchogue around 3 a.m. when a northbound 2015 Toyota 4Runner hit him, Suffolk County police said. Then the other cars hit him as well on the arterial road.

The 4Runner's 24-year-old driver and one of the other drivers remained at the scene. Police said the other two motorists drove off.

The pedestrian, who died at the scene has been tentatively identified as a 64-year-old Patchogue man, but medical examiners haven't yet made a positive identification.

No other injuries were reported.
