Construction Worker Hit Following Car Crash in Manhattan: Police

A pedestrian was struck following a car accident involving a taxi cab on the Upper East Side Saturday, authorities said.

A red Toyota and a yellow taxi cab were involved in the collision on Park Avenue and 85th Street Saturday morning, with the Toyota ending up on the sidewalk.

The taxi was making a U-turn in the intersection when it collided with a red Toyota, which ended up on the sidewalk. The taxi smashed in the intersection.

A construction worker was hit by the sedan and was taken to Cornell with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

Cameron Dotson, another construction worker at the site, said the focus was now on their colleague recovering.

"Forget the job, forget all this. It's his health that's more important, his family that has to go through this," he said.

The investigation is ongoing.
