An off-duty police officer shot and wounded a man outside a 7-Eleven in New Jersey early on Thursday, authorities say.
The officer was outside the store on Main Street in Paterson when he got in an argument with a man, according to authorities.
At some point while the pair were exchanging words, authorities say the officer fired his weapon and injured the man.
The doorway to the convenience store was cordoned off with police tape Thursday afternoon.
It's unclear if the cop or the man who was shot will face charges.
