Paterson Announces New Prescription Saver Card

Low-income patients can save big dollars

If you're looking for help paying for your prescriptions, assistance may be just days away.

Beginning April 1, patients can get 60 percent off generics and 30 percent off name-brand drugs.

There are some requirements, however. Those hoping to cash in on the savings must:

+ Not already be receiving Medicaid.
+ Be between ages 50 and 65.
+ Have an annual household income less than $35,000 (single) or $50,000 (married).

If you meet the criteria above, click here to apply.

Gov. Paterson was quoted on WHEC.com as having said, "One of the great obstacles that New Yorkers face is the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs. In fact in the last two years the cost of these drugs has elevated twice that of the inflation rate."

Not all coming from Albany was good Monday. A new Siena poll showed yet another drop in approval for Paterson.
