Police say a Passaic High School student who was stabbed four times during a brawl near the school is expected to recover from his injuries.
The 18-year-old male, whose identity was not released, underwent surgery shortly after the attack and was in critical but stable condition at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson.
The alleged assailant, identified only as a 16-year-old male student, was arrested a short time later.
Police told The Record newspaper they were called just before 7:30 a.m. Thursday when a fight broke out involving three or four people outside an apartment building across the street from the school. It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the brawl.
