NJ High School Evacuated After Cop Finds Bomb Threat on Extension Cord

A New Jersey high school was evacuated for at least two hours Tuesday morning after a police officer assigned to the school found a note attached to an extension cord offering a reward to the person who found a bomb in the building.

Passaic High School was cleared out after the officer found the threat at about 10:30 a.m., according to police.

Authorities say that the note, which stated "offering a reward to whoever finds the bomb that was put in the school", was affixed in some way to an extension cord.

The school is being searched with bomb squads and police dogs.

No injuries have been reported.

The threat comes just weeks after 10 schools in the Garden State were evacuated or placed on lockdown after someone called in threats about mass shootings and bombs in the buildings. The threats were later determined to be hoaxes, with each call being routed through the same California town.

Thursday's threat is thought to be an isolated incident.
