Fire Erupts at 17-Story Apartment Building in Brooklyn, 1 Hurt: Officials

One person was taken to the hospital after a fire erupted in a 17-story apartment building in Brooklyn Monday, authorities say.

Firefighters were called to the building on 10th Street in Park Slope around 3:30 p.m. The blaze was under control within 40 minutes.

It wasn't clear where the fire broke out and the cause wasn't known.

The injured person had only minor injuries and was expected to be OK, officials said.
